The University conducts weekly testing of the systems
Your University accommodation is fitted with modern fire detection systems to provide the highest level of life safety. And to make sure all of them are working properly, the University conducts weekly testing of the systems.
Weekly testing of the fire alarm systems takes place on the following days within the below property groups (subject to change):
Monday (9.30 - 10.30) - Jean Muir Student Village
Wednesday (10:40 - 11:30) – Anna MacLeod, Muriel Spark and Mary Ferguson
Wednesday (11:30 - 12:15) – Robin Smith, George Burnett and Lord Thomson
Wednesday (13:30 - 14:15) – Christina Miller East, Christina Miller West and Lord Home
Wednesday (14:30 - 14:45) – Robert Bryson
Thursday (14:00 - 14:10) – Leonard Horner
During a fire alarm test, the alarm will sound for 15-30 seconds, there is no need to evacuate the building for these tests.
