The cutest way to relieve some stress

Exam season can be a real grind. Between late-night study sessions and looming deadlines, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. That's why we keep bringing back the ever-popular Therapets event! A chance to unwind with some friendly, four-legged visitors.

🐶 Why Dogs?

Interacting with therapy dogs has been shown to reduce stress levels, induce feelings of calm, and produce those feel-good chemicals we all need during stressful times. Even a short, 20-minute session can significantly improve mood and reduce anxiety.

🧠 The Science Behind the Snuggles

A study conducted found that students who spent time with therapy dogs experienced notable improvements in well-being and mood, along with a significant reduction in anxiety levels. Interestingly, the presence of a dog alone was more beneficial than interactions involving both the dog and its handler.

💙 More Than Just a Cute Face

These therapy dogs, part of the Canine Concern Scotland Trust's "Paws Against Stress" programme, are trained to provide comfort and companionship. Their visits are a highlight during Mental Health Awareness Week, offering students a much-needed pause from academic pressures.

So next time there's a session, take a moment to relax and recharge with a friendly pup. Your mental health will thank you.
