Walking routes of Edinburgh campus

Posted 2 months ago

Life can get so busy, especially university life!

Sometimes we can miss what is around us and whilst living at the Edinburgh campus I like to walk around to take in the scenery and appreciate where I'm living for the next year. It's an added bonus the campus is so pretty!

📍 James Watt Statue

The main reception is just behind the James Watt Statue. This is the main entrance to the university. There are frequent buses from here to the city centre.

📍 Riccarton General Practice

Students can register with the NHS here. This health centre is helpful if students want to see a General Practitioner.

📍 Oriam

Oriam is Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre. Students can join in wide variety of sports clubs and even use the gym at the Oriam.

📍 Students Union

They have Liberty’s if students want to go to a café, or Geordie’s which is a sports bar, and there is also a multipurpose hall called Zeros.

📍 Loch

This lake in the campus is spectacular place with lots of swans and ducks. Students can come here to relax in this serene place.

📍 GRID

The GRID is the latest modern building in the campus where students can collaborate with others. They have great study areas with amazing views of the loch.

📍 Hugh Nisbet Building

This building has all the central services such as The Student Wellbeing, the Student Service Centre, Careers Service, Student shop etc… Students can also grab meals from the Elements, the Piece Café, or the main canteen.

📍 Chaplaincy

They have regular events and it’s a great place to make friends from all around the world.

📍 Lawn

This beautiful place at the heart of campus is peaceful. The view of the lawn and the woods are breathtaking.

📍 Library

Library is a great place for students to catch up with their studies. Students can find all the books and materials needed for their studies here.
