If you're wanting to do bonfire night on a budget then we've got a few hot spots where you can look out over the city and watch all the fireworks...

How about heading up Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park, where you can look over the whole city and see all the displays for free. Just remember that the bonfire nights across the city are on all over the weekend, so pick which night you head up there carefully to avoid disappointment.

Another hot spot is Calton Hill, this is a better lit hill and you have amazing views of Princess street and the castle.

Just remember if you're heading up the hill to wrap up warm and stay in a group!

Bonfire night can be a lot of fun but please leave it up to the professionals, it is not permitted to have your own bonfire on campus as it can be dangerous to other students and our woodland friends. If you are not sure what you can or cannot do on bonfire night please email ResLife
